Christmas Gifts for All

Christmas is traditionally a time of giving & a time of family.

Sadly this year there are a great many families who have fallen on tough financial times & who are not looking forward to a happy, peaceful Christmas.

This is particularly true for families with young children who can't afford to buy them the toys & gifts which are so commonly associated with Christmas time.

It's hard for kids to understand why Santa won't be coming this year or why there's no Christmas Tree with gifts piled under it as is shown on masses of Christmas advertising bombarding them from every angle during December.

This year, more than any other year in recent times, the wonderful Charities who are there for those in need at Christmas are stretched to the limit. Unemployment & financial hardship are very commonplace throughout the UK this year & they are asking for help.

Together the Salvation Army & St.Vincent de Paul are collecting donations of gifts for children for this Christmas or non perishable food to be included in hampers. It takes such a little time & money to make a huge difference to a child this year on Christmas Day.

A spokesman for the Children's Toy Appeal said:

"donate unwrapped toys, toiletries, clothes or any items that would make a nice present for a child up to 17 years of age.

"We would ask for one item per household which would be a big, big help" continued the spokesman for the charity"

These Toy Appeals are being conducted throughout the UK & if you think you may be able to help with a small gift for a child on Christmas day then please click through this link to read more about this worthy appeal.
